Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Employ appropriate instructional strategies and activities in order to ensure academic growth for all students
  2. Demonstrate current knowledge and skill in using research-based instructional methods
  3. Create a safe, respectful learning environment for students and actively engage them in the learning process
  4. Modify or provide additional instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and learning needs
  5. Work with students before and after school and on weekends to provide additional instruction to ensure content mastery
  6. Work with colleagues to create horizontal and vertical alignment of the curriculum as well as promoting the growth of the organization as a whole
  7. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
  8. Use instructional technology purposefully in the classroom to extend learning options/opportunities
  9. Demonstrate interest and initiative in ongoing professional development
  10. Promote a college-going atmosphere in the classroom and demonstrate high expectations for students
  11. Support the Graduation Coach in promoting college preparedness and readiness through purposeful instructional activities and demystifying the college experience.
